Don't Get Caught With Your Pants Down

Let's Ensure You Don't Get Caught With Your Pants Down.

There have been multiple times over the years when a Landlord or Landlord’s rep told us a Lease was ready for a Tenant to sign, only for us to find clauses in the Lease that either weren’t agreed to or weren’t supposed to be in there.

Whether this had ill intent or not, it is the Tenant’s and/or the Tenants team’s responsibility to ensure what they sign is what they agreed to.

Enter Microsoft Compare. Microsoft compare allows you to compare the latest version of the agreed upon draft to the “final version” to ensure nothing has changed, which allows you to be 100% confident that you are signing the correct and final version.

This is a simple protective measure that we take for our clients to ensure they aren’t signing something that wasn’t agreed to. Sometimes Lawyers want to control the signing and if that’s the case we always ask them to run a compare to be sure.

It doesn’t really matter who runs the compare version, as long as it gets done for the client (although we always offer because it might save them a few hundred dollars in legal fees).

As a reminder we help tenants with 10-100 locations with site selection services. If we could ever be of help in any way please feel free to reach out at ap@trueequityg.com or (512) 216-5495.
